Thanks to innovative technologies, the Italian motorways of the future will be smoother, greener but above all safer. Mitas Industry, through its Italian reference brand Siderpali, is proud to announce the definition of a framework agreement worth 30 million euros with Anas s.p.a. Ferrovie dello Stato Group for a duration of 3 years, for the supply of multifunctional supports relating to the “Anas Smart Road” project.
The Anas Smart Road project focuses on technology for the development of Smart Mobility, a new concept of mobility that combines technology, safety and eco-sustainability.
Special devices installed on the main motorway sections will allow for more efficient monitoring of the same, optimizing traffic and improving safety. This technology will also allow the real-time exchange of information to and from vehicles in transit, a preparatory condition for future autonomous driving scenarios.
The first sections affected by the project are: E45-E55 ‘Orte-Mestre’, Catania ring road, A19 ‘Palermo-Catania motorway’, A90 ‘Grande Raccordo Anulare di Roma’, A91 ‘Rome motorway-Fiumicino airport’ and A2 ‘ Mediterranean Highway’.
Green Islands are planned along the Smart Roads, true oases of eco-sustainability, where clean energy will be generated and distributed. The objective of the Green Islands is to power and manage all the devices on the Smart Road.
LumineXence, a Mitas Industry brand, specialized in green products for Smart Cities, will supply the innovative street furniture designed by the architect. Giancarlo Zema, equipped with systems for the production of energy from renewable sources, lighting and video surveillance of the Green Islands.
