Body
The body, according to the height of the tower, is made up of several polygonal sections, made out of bent and longitudinally welded steel sheets. The different sections are fitted on site using overlapping joints based on the “slip on joint” method. The body welding process is according to UNI EN ISO 15609 and CNR UNI standards 10011. It should be noted that the welding process provides, unless otherwise specified by the Customer, a penetration of 100% of the slip sections and at least 80% throughout the remaining length.
Headlight platform
The platform is installed, by means of a bolted joint, at the top of the body. The platform is also equipped with a walking anti-slip surface. Access to the platform is ensured by means of a special passage. All the geometric and functional characteristics of the structure are in agreement with the current accident prevention regulations. The projectors are mounted on crossbars bolted to the structure of the platform.
Resting platform
The resting platform, also built in steel, has technical and constructive characteristics similar to those of the headlight platform. The connection to the body is obtained by a connection to a special welded element.
materials
The following materials are used for the different structural elements of the tower:
– body: steel S355 JR (Fe 510 B) UNI EN 10025;
– platforms and ladders: steel S235 JR (Fe 360 B) UNI EN 10025;
– bolts: class 8.8 hot-dip galvanized steel.
Surface protections
All steel components are protected against surface corrosion by galvanizing in a hot molten zinc bath in compliance with the UNI EN 40-2 standard.
Installation method
The mast is normally imbedded into the concrete plinth. For special applications it is possible to use anchor bolts.
